PENDANT WITH CHAIN
The hibiscus or mandara (Hibiscus L.) is ubiquitous with the goddess Kali in the Hindu religion . It is a perennial plant and flowers throughout the year bringing vibrancy and colours to gardens. The hibiscus plant has a lot of medicinal and culinary uses. The hibiscus tea is made from the petals of the flower and is known to lower blood pressure. Our depiction of the mandara leaves using stoneware to highlight the natural veins comes complete with a chain of natural fibres and packaged in a hand carved wooden box. A gentle reminder to wear our living heritage with pride. The pendant comes with threads made of natural fibre and dhokra beads.
The pārijātā jewellery collection is a dedication to the beautiful leaves, vines, and flowers of an amazingly biodiverse state. EARRINGS
This unique pair of earrings draws inspiration from two iconic flowers of Odisha—the vibrant Ashoka flower and the graceful Aparijata flower. The flower, crafted in ceramic, captures the beauty of the Ashoka bloom, while the detachable silver blossom reinterprets the form of the Aparijata flower in a minimalist design.
Designed for versatility, the silver component can be worn separately as a pendant, offering multiple styling possibilities. This fusion piece celebrates the harmony of nature’s elements while adding a contemporary, adaptable touch to your jewelry collection. Perfect for those who value creativity, elegance, and functionality in their accessories.
The silver blossom is crafted using the age old delicate technique of filigree or tarakashi for which the city of Cuttack is famous. In Odia, ‘tara’ means wire and ‘kasi’ is design. Beaten silver is drawn into thin fine wires and foils, which are then fashioned together to create show pieces or jewelry of infinite beauty.
